Still Autumn?

I got to admit, we had some amazing days of autumn. Like starry sky, no clouds, cold and aurora borealis. But this happened the days when I had a lot of work to do, either with my job, the Red Cross or the brass band, so I did not get a chance to go outside when it was still light enough, nor during the evening/night because I went to sleep early all those days.

Since then, it's been raining and raining and raining. Today however a change of seasons. It's now officially winter. First snowfall!
Driving is complete crap these first few days of snow. Hopefully it will disappear soon. The snow I mean. I'm not a winter person, but I survive.

Anyhow, life is quite busy at the moment, but I'll ask my big bro if I can share some of the portraits I took of my nephew a month or so ago. I plan to frame the 3 photos I like and give them to them on his 1st birthday a month or so from now.

Norwegian hobby photographer in residence!

I'm 25 years old, living on the west coast of Norway. Been a deviant for 5 years, but it's been a complicated on/off relationship.

For a living I work for an power/IT-company, planning FTTH. I'm educated both a high voltage electrician and a electric technical engineer, but at the moment I'm, as I said, working with FTTH, which is planning and building fiber optical net for people so they get internet, tv and telephone through fiber optical cables. Enough about that. This is not what I'll be doing for the rest of my life, thankfully.

As for what artsy stuff goes, a long time ago I dabbled with something called dolls. Small cartoony-ish figures made on a base. I don't really do that anymore, but some of my work from back then I'm still quite proud of, so I reckon I won't remove them from my gallery. Yet. I still follow that community to see the amazingness people can make though, so might show up a few in my favourites from time to time.

I bought my first DSLR-camera, a Canon Eos 400D when I finished my apprenticeship back in 2005. Still going strong, and it's enough for my use. I use the standard kit that came with the camera from time to time, but I have a Canon 55-250mm that I'm rather fond of. I feel I catch much more detail even from a distance with that one than the standard lense. Also, make note that it's not too long ago I started actually figuring out what the different wheels and buttons actually do to my pictures, so I'm in a learning process. I just know what I like my pictures to look, and I experiment my way toward it.

Sooo, I hope you enjoy my gallery, and do not be afraid of giving feedback. That's the only way to improve. Together with taking more pictures.
